Learn how to choose fighters, unlock abilities, earn XP and progress through SUNCORE SLAM's two leveling systems.
1. Which fighters can I play?
SUNCORE SLAM includes five free fighters, one from each land.
| Fighter | Land |
|---|---|
| #100001 | SORA |
| #100002 | CHI |
| #100003 | NOMAD |
| #100004 | UMI |
| #100005 | MECHA |
You can select a fighter from CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTER.
If your SAN account holds eligible Soundscape Avatars, those avatars can also appear as playable fighters when you sign in.
2. Can I rename my fighter?
Yes.
You can rename free fighters using NAME YOUR AVATAR.
Names can contain up to 16 characters, including supported letters, numbers and certain symbols.
Renaming is optional. Without a custom name, the fighter keeps its original number.
3. How do I switch fighters?
- Open MENU.
- Select CHANGE FIGHTER.
- Choose the fighter you want to use.
Each fighter keeps their own campaign progress, FIGHTER LEVEL, equipment and saved Fits.
Your account's PLAYER LEVEL remains shared across all fighters.
4. What is the difference between PLAYER LEVEL and FIGHTER LEVEL?
SUNCORE SLAM has two separate leveling systems.
| PLAYER LEVEL | FIGHTER LEVEL | |
|---|---|---|
| Applies to | Your entire account | One fighter |
| Level range | 1 to 50 | 1 to 5 |
| Progress | Shared across fighters | Separate for each fighter |
| Main rewards | Accessories, packs and milestones | Ability slots, perk slots and a title |
You can view both levels through MY FIGHTER.
5. What is FIGHTER LEVEL?
FIGHTER LEVEL tracks the progression of an individual fighter.
Each fighter earns their own XP and unlocks additional equipment options.
| Level | XP required | Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Starting level | Base fighter |
| 2 | 120 | First perk slot |
| 3 | 320 | Second ability slot |
| 4 | 620 | Second perk slot |
| 5 | 1,000 | KNOWN IN EVERY LAND title |
Levels unlock customization options rather than increasing raw combat strength.
6. How do fighters earn XP?
Fighter XP comes from campaign activities, including:
- Scoring points
- Scoring at FULL SPEED
- Successfully using combat tricks
- Defeating opponents
- First victories against challengers and Wardens
- Defeating FOLDBACK
Online duels contribute to your fighter's online record but do not award FIGHTER LEVEL XP.
7. What is PLAYER LEVEL?
PLAYER LEVEL is your account-wide progression system.
It runs from level 1 to level 50.
Eligible activity across all your fighters contributes to the same PLAYER LEVEL.
Each level from 2 through 50 provides a reward.
8. How do I earn PLAYER LEVEL XP?
PLAYER LEVEL XP comes from eligible campaign fights verified by SAN's server.
Qualifying activities include:
- Road challengers
- Wardens
- Land trials
- THE DEN
- FOLDBACK phases
- Completed GAUNTLET runs
- Daily missions
Online duels, practice and lessons do not award PLAYER LEVEL XP.
9. How much PLAYER LEVEL XP can I earn from a fight?
Eligible campaign fights award XP based on performance.
Examples include:
- 8 XP for each point scored
- Additional XP for FULL SPEED points and successful tricks
- 40 XP for a win
- At least 20 XP for a completed loss
- 60 XP for holding THE DEN
- 150 XP for clearing THE GAUNTLET
A single fight can award up to 150 PLAYER LEVEL XP.
10. Why did I receive NO XP?
If a fight displays NO XP · SCORE, OR CATCH 4, it did not meet the minimum activity requirements.
To qualify, a fight must last at least 20 seconds and include either:
- At least one point scored, or
- At least four catches
11. Is there a daily XP limit?
Yes.
Your first 20 qualifying fights each UTC day count toward PLAYER LEVEL XP.
Additional fights can still contribute to your records.
Daily mission XP is awarded separately from the 20-fight limit.
12. How much XP do I need to reach level 50?
Level 2 requires 100 XP.
Each level costs 50 XP more than the previous one through level 21.
Starting at level 22, each level requires 1,200 XP.
Reaching PLAYER LEVEL 50 requires 46,300 total XP.
13. Can I play using my Soundscape Avatar?
Yes, if you own an eligible Soundscape Avatar associated with your SAN STATUS account.
To use it:
- Sign in with the email associated with SAN STATUS.
- Confirm that the wallet holding your avatar is listed in SAN STATUS.
- Open CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTER.
- Select your eligible Soundscape Avatar.
You can also use FIGHT AS under ACCOUNT.
Your avatar uses its eligible on-chain appearance while following the same combat rules as other fighters.
14. What happens if my Soundscape Avatar disappears?
An avatar may disappear from your fighter list if it is no longer verified as belonging to your SAN account.
This can happen if the avatar moves to a wallet that is not associated with your SAN STATUS profile.
Signing out also removes your SAN avatars from the available fighter list until you sign back in.
Your avatar's existing game progress is set aside rather than deleted.
15. Where can I view my levels?
Open MY FIGHTER or select LEVEL on the game screen.
You can also access PLAYER LEVEL through:
MENU > PLAYER LEVEL
For more information, select HOW LEVELS WORK.
16. Where can I get help?
For missing levels, account issues or unrecognized avatars, contact the SAN Sound Help Center.
